KLISBio to exhibit at 2024 European Federation of Societies for Microsurgery (EFSM) Congress in Milan
KLISBio, a regenerative medicine company utilizing silk-based technology, will participate in the European Federation of Societies for Microsurgery Congress from May 9-11, 2024. The company will operate booth #5 to showcase advances in peripheral nerve repair.
Leadership including CEO Gabriele Grecchi and CTO Antonio Alessandrino will present the SILKBridge® Nerve Guide, described as the most advanced product in KLISBio's pipeline. The device remains pending regulatory clearance in the US, EU, and other regions.
During the event, Prof. Maurizio Calcagni will present long-term follow-up results from SILKBridge® research. The device features a patented three-layer structure combining silk fibers with electrospun layers designed to promote cell adhesion while offering mechanical strength.
Alessandrino stated that results from preliminary human trials mark a significant milestone, supporting plans for a pivotal clinical trial in 2025. Grecchi emphasized the company's commitment to securing CE Mark approval through comprehensive EU clinical studies while developing additional product sizes.
KLISBio, headquartered in Milan, develops regenerative medicine platforms based on natural silk fibroin. The pipeline includes vascular grafts, bone graft substitutes, and rotator cuff repair solutions.
